NOTHING IS WORTH MORE THAN THIS MOMENT

Mike and I bought a beautiful bird feeder, or perhaps I should call it a squirrel feeder because since the squirrels figured out how to successfully fly through the air onto the feeder, they have taken it over as their own. Sometimes, I like to think the squirrels are kind when they share “their feeder” with the birds.

When the birds get their turn, I love watching them, and I am particularly enamoured with the ones that have bright yellow feathers. While watching, I wish I could reach out and have the birds eat out of my hand, and just when I am really convinced my wishes might come true, they fly away because the pesky squirrels show up again.

The birds in Oshawa are so different compared to the ones in BC where we used to live. They look more beautiful to me, and they sing more songs. Watching them makes me realize how, since God created and sustains such delicate and precious creatures, He must surely care for me (Matthew 6:26).

I encourage you to take a moment to notice the birds, and you will see that God is not only showing you how valuable you are to Him, but He is also trying to show you how worries can barge into your life, like the squirrels, and rob you of your peace. Worrying is really a lack of trust in God, Who is trying to bring your attention to the practice of focusing on this moment.

Nothing is worth more than this moment!

You can only live one moment at a time, and when you take time to get acquainted with God, He will give you strength for what is coming next, grace sufficient for each and every moment. Just look at Jesus’ promise to you personally in His Word: “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6: 33, 34).

Although you are in the middle of all the challenges of this pandemic, we encourage you to keep trusting in Jesus. We also thank you for your continued commitment to support It Is Written Canada in our quest to connect Canadians to the abundant life that is found in Jesus in a way that is personal and relevant. Your ongoing encouragement and funding enable us to help people trust in the LORD moment by moment.

We are currently filming and editing some brand-new projects that you will see shortly, and we want to let you know that without your backing, we would not be able to make the necessary improvements to our productions. Thank you once again for partnering with us.

Health Nugget

Because we were created to move, exercising is critical to our health and happiness. In fact, nature’s wonderful works need to be kept in active motion in order to accomplish the object for which they were designed. Think about it: The ocean is in constant motion. The springing grass moves and fills the fields with its beauty. The sun, moon and stars all move and are glorious in fulfilling their mission. And humans, their minds and bodies created in God’s own image, must be active in order to fill their appointed place. Action gives power, so let’s keep active!
